Our trust services encompass collaborating with families and beneficiaries, drafting trustee certificates and other necessary administrative documents, and coordinating with accountants, financial advisors, and real estate professionals. Probate

In addition to our legal representation, Maple Haven Law has extensive experience serving in fiduciary roles, such as acting as Administrators or Executors of estates. We coordinate with estate auctioneers for selling both real and personal property, collaborate with real estate agents on property sales, and assist beneficiaries in managing the distribution of personal assets. Our team also works closely with accountants to ensure that all estate tax filings are handled accurately and promptly, addressing any tax-related concerns with meticulous care.

Sarah B. Haselton

Attorney
A seventh-generation Vermonter, Sarah is a dedicated attorney who brings a wealth of knowledge and a client-centered approach to her practice. Sarah earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Elmira College, where she triple majored, and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and Summa Cum Laude. After graduating from Elmira, Sarah earned her juris doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated in the Top 25 % of her class and earned numerous awards for trial advocacy. After graduating from law school, Sarah has served in a variety of positions, including faciliating transactional work for IDX Systems Corporation, working for DCF as a Managing Attorney, and, most recently, working for Stackpole & French. Sarah has extensive experience within family law, probate, and estate planning. Sarah has served on national boards and has been a frequent speaker for the Vermont Bar Association. She has also attended numerous national and state seminars and academies within the realms of elder and estate planning, including the esteemed Heckerling Institute. Sarah resides in Addison County with her husband and young children.

Katie Reen

Senior Paralegal
Katie Reen is a compassionate and dedicated Paralegal with a caring approach and a deep commitment to helping clients navigate the often complex and emotional process of estate planning and probate matters. With over two decades of experience in the legal field, Katie is well-versed in Estate Planning, Probate, Trust Services, and Litigation. Katie works closely with clients in all areas of estate planning and trust services including meeting with clients to help develop estate planning strategies that best match their family situation and individual needs. She prepares Wills, Trusts, General Durable Power of Attorneys, and Advance Healthcare Directives, among other estate planning documents. She also assists clients with trust funding and trust administration. Katie works closely with Executors, Administrators, beneficiaries, and heirs on Vermont Probate matters from inception to completion including estates, ancillary estates, guardianships, and estate administration. Katie is originally from Rehoboth, Massachusetts and now resides in Waterbury with her husband and young son. She earned her Legal Executive Assistant Certificate from Katharine Gibbs School where she graduated at the top of her class and earned her Paralegal Certificate from Northeastern University. Katie had worked for law firms in Providence, Boston, and Burlington, before working at Stackpole & French in Stowe for 18 years. Katie is a member of the Vermont Paralegal Organization.

Erin Broe Swafford

Paralegal
Prior to joining the legal sector, Erin worked within financing. Her expertise and knowledge of the banking industry makes her exceptionally skilled at assisting client with their funding questions and needs. Erin is compassionate and empathetic. She provides a calming impact and resource to our clients.
