A seventh-generation Vermonter, Sarah is a dedicated attorney who brings a wealth of knowledge and a client-centered approach to her practice.


Sarah earned her bachelor’s degree from Elmira College, where she triple majored and graduated Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude. After graduating from Elmira, she earned her juris doctorate from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where she graduated in the top 25% of her class and received numerous awards for trial advocacy.


Following law school, Sarah has served in a variety of roles, including facilitating transactional work for IDX Systems Corporation, working for DCF as a Managing Attorney, and, most recently, working for Stackpole & French.


Sarah has extensive experience in family law, probate, and estate planning. She has also served on national boards and has been a frequent speaker for the Vermont Bar Association. In addition, she has attended numerous national and state seminars and academies in elder law and estate planning, including the esteemed Heckerling Institute.


Sarah resides in Addison County with her husband and young children.

Amanda is a lifelong Vermonter who focuses her practice on estate planning, criminal defense, and family law, as well as assisting witnesses and victims in navigating the legal system while preserving their rights.


She joined Maple Haven Law as a partner in 2026. Prior to Maple Haven, Amanda worked as an associate at Chadwick, Spensley & Fox, PLLC, and before that at the Vermont Office of Child Support, where she was a supervising attorney. Drawing from her experience at the Office of Child Support, she is well-versed in the Vermont Parentage Act and child support matters.

Before her work at the Office of Child Support, Amanda was a staff attorney at the Rutland County Public Defender’s Office, where she successfully tried numerous cases in front of a jury.


Amanda attended Vermont Law School, earning her J.D., and then went on to earn an LL.M. in Air & Space Law from McGill University’s Institute of Air and Space Law. While at McGill, she was an assistant editor of the Annals of Air and Space Law as well as a member of the Space Law Moot Court.


Amanda is admitted to both state and federal courts in Vermont. She is based primarily out of her home in Addison County and can assist clients throughout Vermont.

Katie Reen is a compassionate legal professional dedicated to helping clients navigate the complex and often emotional terrain of estate planning, trust administration, probate matters, and family law. With over 20 years of experience, Katie provides a steady hand and a caring approach for individuals and families facing life’s most significant transitions with empathy and meticulous attention to detail.

 

Katie works closely with clients to develop personalized estate planning strategies. Her work includes preparing Wills, Trusts, Powers of Attorney, and Advance Healthcare Directives, among other estate planning documents, and assisting clients with trust funding and trust administration. She guides Executors, Administrators, and heirs through the Vermont Probate process, including ancillary estates and guardianships.  Katie also works with clients in divorce proceedings and child custody matters.


Together with Attorney Sarah Haselton, Katie is dedicated to empowering her neighbors through education. Their shared mission at Maple Haven Law is to provide Vermont communities with the knowledge needed to secure their neighbor’s future and legacy. They fulfill this through their free estate planning seminars designed to make legal planning simple, clear, and accessible for everyone. 


Katie is originally from Rehoboth, Massachusetts and now resides in Waterbury with her husband and young son. She earned her Legal Executive Assistant Certificate from Katharine Gibbs School where she graduated at the top of her class and earned her Paralegal Certificate from Northeastern University. Before joining the team from inception at Maple Haven Law, PLLC, Katie spent over two decades in her career gaining valuable experience at law firms in Stowe, Burlington, Boston, and Providence giving her a broad perspective on diverse legal challenges. Katie is a member of the Vermont Paralegal Organization.

Prior to joining the legal sector, Erin built a strong foundation in finance, where she developed a deep understanding of lending, underwriting, and the practical realities clients face when securing funding. That experience gives her a rare advantage in guiding clients through the financial side of their matters with clarity and confidence.


With extensive knowledge of the banking industry, Erin is exceptionally skilled at helping clients navigate funding questions and determine the best next steps for their unique needs. She translates complex financial details into straightforward options, ensuring clients feel informed, supported, and prepared to move forward.


Erin is also known for her compassionate and empathetic approach. She takes the time to listen, understands what clients are carrying, and responds with genuine care. Her steady presence provides a calming influence and a trusted resource for clients throughout the process, especially during high-stress moments when reassurance and clear communication matter most.
